The first urban development project at the Quantum City of Knowledge complex was carried out during 2012 and 2013 by architect Mario Schjetnan. Although not definitive, it marked the beginning of the process of developing a formal master plan and conceptualizing the desired outcome.\n\nWith Schjetnan, those involved in the project began to understand several implications of a Science and Technology Park (STP): social integration, environmental impact, and connection to the urban area. This initial approach helped to define the scale and importance of the project.

The complex began with 32 hectares donated by the government of Zacatecas, to which another 12 hectares were added between 2014 and 2015 through purchases by COZCyT, reaching a total of 44 hectares located near the capital. During those years, the legal procedures to consolidate the project, now known as Quantum City of Knowledge, were also completed. The Master Plan, led by Bilbao, was designed to integrate with the natural environment and was finalized in February 2015, the same year construction began with the laying of the cornerstone.

In the first half of the year, one of the most ambitious and crucial projects was undertaken: the construction of a grade-separated vehicular bridge that maintains the continuity of the railway line and facilitates access to the complex and its connection to the city's transportation network.\n\nOn October 6, 2017, the second phase of development began on the six hectares, with the start of construction on two research centers and the infrastructure to house small, technology-based businesses, known as the Tech Mall.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

A review of the recent history of science and technology reveals that quantum physics has been fundamental to the development of the technology that impacts us today, and which is becoming increasingly relevant for future scientific and technological developments. \"Quantum\" is a word that is both classical and cutting-edge.
