CENTER FOR RESEARCH IN MATHEMATICS A.C. ZACATECAS UNIT

The Zacatecas Unit of the Center for Research in Mathematics A.C. (CIMAT) is dedicated to the generation, transmission, and application of scientific and technological knowledge. It has specialized personnel in various areas of Software Engineering (such as software assurance, human-computer interaction, process improvement, and Software Engineering for Artificial Intelligence) and Robotics (such as automatic control, motion planning, autonomous navigation, artificial intelligence, and human-robot interaction).

Graduate Programs

Currently, there are two graduate programs at the Zacatecas Unit of CIMAT: the Master's in Software Engineering (MIS) and the Master's in Science with a focus on Robotics (MCR). Their objectives are:

  • The general objective of the Master in Software Engineering is to address the needs of professionals in the software industry by enhancing their capabilities and knowledge for software development, as well as transmitting principles, best practices, and advanced software engineering technologies. The Master's in Software Engineering is a professionalizing master's degree. 🔗
  • The Master of Science with a focus on Robotics seeks to train highly qualified human resources with international competence to contribute to Scientific-Technological and Innovation development in the region and in the country in the field of Robotics, allowing to strengthen academic, research, and innovation capacities for the solution of national problems and process automation. 🔗

Linkage

The facilities of CIMAT Zacatecas, located in Quantum, City of Knowledge, represent an exceptionally important opportunity to strengthen the connection between CIMAT, higher education institutions, and companies in the State of Zacatecas. This is because the main actors and leaders of active research and collaboration lines are integrating into their respective institutions within an ecosystem where proximity and interaction are conducive to scientific and technological development.

In this regard, integration into Quantum, City of Knowledge, is expected so that, in collaboration with other participants and members of the Park, linkage projects can be carried out to address research activities, human resource training, and technological project development for the benefit of the society of the State of Zacatecas and its region.
The Zacatecas Unit has 12 academic members, all of whom hold doctoral degrees, and 91% belong to the National System of Researchers (SNI):
4 Senior Researchers (three SNI Level 1, one SNI Level 2)
3 CONACYT Chairs (two at SNI Level 1, one at SNI Level 2)
3 Academic Technicians (one at SNI Level C, one at SNI Level 1)
2 Postdoctoral Researchers (both at SNI Level C)
