The H. Technical Council of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) approved in October 2022 the construction of a Molecular Biomedicine Research Center in the state of Zacatecas, a project that will be pioneering due to its high technology, will have infrastructure for scientific and innovation activities, training of quality human resources and generation of patents.
This Center will develop studies on tuberculosis, COVID-19, influenza and diagnosis of infectious respiratory diseases; it will have offices for researchers, administrative areas, for specialized instrumentation units in flow cytometry, confocal fluorescence microscopy, PCR and molecular biology, as well as DNA and protein microarrays, among others.
